Tarsa Family Farm

It’s about where and how we live …

Good intentions are not enough. By joining together we can be proactive in determining what the Lebanon Valley will look like today and tomorrow. We can …

~ Promote efficient development in and around existing communities.

~ Preserve the familiar landscapes that give our Lebanon Valley its unique character and appeal.

~ Ensure that our children’s quality of life will be as rewarding as ours. Conrad Easement

Protecting farmland and other significant open spaces and natural areas assures locally grown food, safeguards the environment, contributes to the local economy and keeps property taxes down.* Smart growth occurs when plans for community development include the care and preservation of our unique environment.

Working toward this end, the Lebanon Valley Conservancy participated in the development of the Lebanon County Comprehensive Plan adopted by the County in 2007. This framework document, among other things provides projections of future conditions based upon current patterns and strategies to create a more desirable and sustainable future. Among many who participated in the development of the Plan, we join our County Planning and Commissioners, Boroughs and Townships, and business community in our enthusiasm to carefully develop and sustain our beautiful valley.

“The old Lakota was wise. He knew that man’s heart away from nature becomes hard; he knew that lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack of respect for humans too.”

~ Chief Luther Standing Bear
